Over 10,000 Special Buses Announced for TN Poll Travel

Ahead of the April 23 Assembly elections, the Tamil Nadu government has arranged extensive special bus services to help voters travel to their hometowns and cast their votes.

Chennai,  Apr 22:

Ahead of the April 23 Assembly elections, the Tamil Nadu government has arranged extensive special bus services to help voters travel to their hometowns and cast their votes.

According to official data, a total of over 10,600 buses — including more than 5,500 special services — will be operated till 23 Aoril across the State.

From Chennai, buses will run to key destinations such as Madurai, Tiruchi, Coimbatore, Salem, Tirunelveli, and other major towns, with additional services from hubs like Koyambedu, Kilambakkam, and Madhavaram.

The move is aimed at easing travel rush and encouraging higher voter turnout, with authorities also providing helplines and round-the-clock connectivity to manage passenger flow efficiently.
