Chennai, Apr 24:

Actor-politician Vijay, who contested from two constituencies—Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchirappalli (East)—has recorded notable voter turnout percentages in both seats, reflecting strong public interest in his electoral debut.

According to reports, Perambur registered a voter turnout of around 83–84%, while Tiruchirappalli (East) saw a slightly higher turnout of approximately 85%. These figures are in line with the overall high polling recorded across Tamil Nadu, which crossed 84% in the 2026 Assembly elections.

Vijay’s decision to contest from two constituencies—Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East has turned both seats into high-profile battlegrounds. While the turnout reflects strong voter participation, the actual vote share secured by him will only be known during counting, scheduled for May 4.
