Actor Dhanush, gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kara, reflected on how Polladhavan became a turning point in his career. Speaking at the pre-release event, Dhanush said that before working with director Vetrimaaran on Polladhavan, he was often perceived as lean and lanky. He noted that the film’s climax sequence, where he revealed a six-pack physique, changed public perception of him.
“All those criticisms disappeared after that scene. For someone who was mocked for his physique, I received my first applause for it in Polladhavan. It was a crucial turning point in my life,” he said. Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja, features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, alongside a supporting cast that includes Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunaas, K. S. Ravikumar, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, M. S. Bhaskar, and Sreeja Ravi.
The film’s music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, marking another collaboration with Dhanush. Produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under Vels Film International, Kara is slated for a worldwide release on April 30.
