Madurai, Apr 28: On the auspicious occasion of the Meenakshi–Sundareswarar Thirukalyanam, a grand feast is being organised in Madurai, drawing thousands of devotees.
The special feast is being held at Sethupathi Higher Secondary School on North Veli Street, where breakfast service began at 7:00 AM.
Devotees are being served a variety of dishes including sakkarai pongal, idli, kichadi, and pakoda along with vadai.
For lunch, an elaborate menu has been arranged featuring kalkandu sadam, ven pongal, sambar rice, tomato rice, curd rice, potato fry, vadai, and pickles.
Organisers have made arrangements to serve the Thirukalyanam feast to over 60,000 devotees between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Considered one of the grandest community feasts in the city, the Meenakshi Thirukalyanam feast remains a defining highlight of the celebrations, reflecting the scale and devotion associated with the festival.
