The upcoming Tamil film Enna Vilai, starring Karunaas and Nimisha Sajayan, has won the Best Screenplay Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, building strong momentum ahead of its theatrical release.
Presented by Kalamaya Films and produced by Githesh V, the film is directed by Sajeev Pazhoor. Positioned as a socio-political family thriller, the film blends emotional depth with gripping storytelling and a rooted cinematic approach. The makers see the award as an early validation of the filmās narrative strength.
Producer Githesh V said the recognition is a proud moment for the team, adding that the film is designed as a complete theatrical experience with strong emotional and engaging elements aimed at connecting with a wide audience.
Director Sajeev Pazhoor noted that the story of Enna Vilai emerges from a grounded and realistic space. He described the award as special recognition for the screenplay, while emphasising that the film has been crafted as an intense and immersive cinematic experience that audiences can deeply connect with on the big screen.
Apart from the lead pair, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Y. G. Mahendran, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Mohan Ram, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Kavithalaya Krishnan, Deepa Shankar, Mottai Rajendran, and Nakkalites Kavi in key roles.
