PlChennai, May 6:
In the wake of a rapidly evolving political landscape in Tamil Nadu, senior AIADMK leader C. V. Shanmugam has offered a measured response to growing speculation over a possible alliance with Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
Addressing media queries, Shanmugam refrained from committing to any immediate political alignment, stating that decisions on alliances would rest with the party leadership. His remarks neither confirmed nor ruled out the possibility of cooperation with TVK, signalling a cautious approach as parties reassess their strategies in a post-election scenario.
Shanmugam’s response is being viewed as a deliberate attempt to keep political options open. At a time when TVK has emerged as a significant force, the AIADMK appears unwilling to close the door on any potential partnership that could prove advantageous in a fractured mandate.
Political observers note that such ambiguity is often strategic, allowing parties to adapt quickly to shifting numbers and alliances. By avoiding a firm stance, the AIADMK leadership retains flexibility in negotiations that may follow.
The emergence of TVK under Vijay has altered traditional political equations in the state.
