Suriya has shared a heartfelt perspective on spirituality while promoting his upcoming film Karuppu, offering insight into both his own beliefs and director RJ Balaji’s deep connection with God.
Speaking candidly, Suriya said that faith and hope play a powerful role in life. He described himself as a God-fearing person, but admitted that he usually turns to temples only during times of crisis. In contrast, he highlighted RJ Balaji’s constant spiritual connection, noting that the filmmaker remains in communication with God in every decision and moment of his life.
Suriya even suggested that divine intervention may have influenced his decision to sign the film. Recalling his initial meeting with RJ Balaji, he revealed that he agreed to the project after just a 30-minute conversation. He added that it felt as though “Veerabadhrasamy/Karuppusamy” was present in the room during that discussion, subtly guiding the outcome.
A Blend of Emotion, Drama, and Mass Entertainment
Talking about the film itself, Suriya gave fans a glimpse of what lies ahead in Karuppu. He explained that the first half will focus on an emotional courtroom drama, setting a strong narrative foundation. The second half, however, will shift gears into a more theatrical and commercial zone, packed with mass moments, humour, and high-energy sequences.
The film features an ensemble cast including Trisha, Sshivada, Swasika, Yogi Babu, Anagha Maaya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, and Indrans in key roles.
With cinematography by GK Vishnu and editing by Kalaivanan, Karuppu is gearing up for a theatrical release on May 14, promising a mix of emotion, spirituality, and full-fledged entertainment.
