Chennai, May 11:
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is expected to travel to New Delhi later this month for a series of high-level meetings, marking his first official visit to the national capital after assuming office.
According to sources, the two-day visit is likely to take place in the third or final week of May, following the anticipated Cabinet expansion and after the new administration stabilises key governance functions in Chennai.
During the visit, Vijay is expected to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The Chief Minister is also expected to submit a detailed memorandum highlighting Tamil Nadu’s financial requirements, including pending Central allocations, compensation dues and assistance under various schemes. Issues related to infrastructure development, welfare programmes and Centre–State coordination are also expected to figure in the discussions.
