Chennai, May 25:
U ion Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday welcomed the mandate delivered by the people of Tamil Nadu and expressed optimism about constructive cooperation between the newly formed state government and the Centre. He said the administration led by C. Joseph Vijay should work closely with the Union government on governance and development priorities.
Highlighting key areas of collaboration, Pradhan pointed to the implementation of the PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) scheme as an important avenue where both governments could align efforts to strengthen the education sector. He indicated that discussions would soon be held with the Tamil Nadu government to address various policy and administrative matters.
The Union Minister stressed that he was confident the new dispensation in the state would function in “tandem with the Centre in a constitutional spirit,” underscoring the importance of cooperative federalism. “We will talk to them in detail regarding our issues,” he said, signalling the Centre’s intent to engage with the state leadership on multiple fronts.
Pradhan further added that he hoped the Vijay-led government would work in close coordination with Narendra Modi, reinforcing the idea that alignment between the state and the Centre could accelerate development initiatives and policy implementation.
His remarks come at a time when political dynamics in Tamil Nadu are undergoing a shift, with expectations rising over how the new government will navigate its relationship with the Union government while addressing the state’s developmental priorities.
