Chennai, May 29:
In a major step towards digital governance, the Tamil Nadu government has introduced a new initiative to make its services easily accessible to the public through mobile phones.
Although online platforms and e-service centres were already in place, people often faced delays and long waiting times, especially while obtaining essential certificates for school and college admissions. This new system aims to eliminate such difficulties and provide quicker access to services.
Launched under the name “Namma Arasu Namma Kaiyil,” the facility enables citizens to access a total of 66 services offered by 20 different government departments. To use the service, individuals simply need to send a message saying “Hi” or “Vanakkam” to the WhatsApp number 7845252525.
Users can choose their preferred language by selecting “T” for Tamil or “E” for English. After selecting the language, they can navigate through departments and access the required services instantly. For further assistance, a dedicated helpline number 18004256000 has also been provided.
