Chennai,  May 30:.
Actor Ajith Kumar’s mother, Mohini, passed away in Chennai on Saturday (May 30) due to age-related ailments. She was 85. Her demise has left the film fraternity and fans in deep sorrow.

The last rites are scheduled to be held at Ajith Kumar’s residence in Palavakkam, where family members, friends, and well-wishers are expected to pay their final respects. Ajith, who is currently in Dubai, is likely to return to Chennai soon following the news of his mother’s passing.

Former Chief Minister M. K. Stalin expressed his condolences, stating that he was deeply saddened by the demise of Mohini Mani. In his message, he described Ajith Kumar as his “dear brother” and said he had no words to console the actor during this difficult time, acknowledging the profound loss of a mother who had witnessed her son’s remarkable achievements.

This loss comes just a few years after Ajith Kumar lost his father in 2023 at the age of 84. The back-to-back personal tragedies have drawn an outpouring of sympathy from across the film industry, political leaders, and fans, who have been extending their support and condolences to the grieving family.

Mohini was known to maintain a private life away from the public eye, even as her son rose to become one of Tamil cinema’s most celebrated stars. Her passing marks the end of a significant chapter in the actor’s personal life, with tributes continuing to pour in from all quarters.
