Chennai, June 3:
AIADMK leader IS Inbadurai on Wednesday raised concerns over the security arrangements provided to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, questioning the necessity of a private bodyguard despite what he described as a multi-layered official security system.
In a post on X, the former MLA pointed out that the state government has already deployed a highly restricted security setup, including a specialised “Core Cell” and other protective rings around the Chief Minister. He questioned why additional private security personnel were being used alongside this official apparatus.
“When multiple layers of official security rings, including a Core Cell, have been provided by the government, why is the chief minister moving around with a private bodyguard?” he asked, suggesting it raises questions about confidence in the state-provided security cover.
Inbadurai also sought clarification on whether allowing a non-official individual into the high-security “Access Control Zone” complies with established security protocols. He further questioned the legal and procedural basis for such access, calling it a matter of both physical and information security.
The AIADMK leader urged the Tamil Nadu government to issue a formal explanation regarding the arrangement and its compliance with security guidelines.
