Chennai, June 3:
Temperatures soared across Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, with 10 locations recording heat levels above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the Meteorological Department.
Vellore recorded the highest temperature in the State at 104.36°F. It was followed by Chennai (Meenambakkam) at 104.18°F, Karur Paramathi at 103.64°F, Thanjavur at 102.2°F, and Chennai (Nungambakkam) at 101.66°F.
Other places that crossed the 100°F mark include Tiruchy, Tiruttani and Palayamkottai (101.3°F each), Namakkal (100.94°F), and Madurai Airport (100.4°F).
With temperatures on the rise across the State, authorities have advised the public to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
