TN govt reshuffles senior IPS officers

The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday ordered another round of transfers and postings of senior IPS officers, appointing Kapil Kumar C. Saratkar as the new Commissioner of Police, Madurai City.

Chennai, June 5:

The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday ordered another round of transfers and postings of senior IPS officers, appointing Kapil Kumar C. Saratkar as the new Commissioner of Police, Madurai City.

Saratkar, who was serving as Inspector General of Police and Additional Commissioner of Police (Headquarters and Traffic) in the Tambaram Police Commissionerate, replaces Abhishek Dixit in the key post. Dixit has now been posted as Inspector General of Police, Railways, Chennai, filling an existing vacancy.

As part of the reshuffle, J. Loganathan, who was on compulsory wait, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police, Technical Services, Chennai. Similarly, R. Thirunavukkarasu has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tirunelveli Range.

P. Pakalavan has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police and Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic South), Greater Chennai Police. Disha Mittal, who was serving as Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic North), has been transferred as Joint Commissioner (Law and Order–West), replacing E. Uma.

In another key move, Bandi Gangadhar, Joint Commissioner (Law and Order–East), Greater Chennai Police, has been appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer of Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) in Chennai.

The reshuffle is part of the State government’s ongoing administrative exercise aimed at strengthening policing and improving operational efficiency across key departments.
