Chennai, June 9:

The ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam on Sunday strongly countered remarks made by DMK president M K Stalin, who had claimed that the Vijay-led government would collapse within three months.

In a statement issued by its IT wing, TVK said its government was formed with the backing of democratic forces after emerging as a major political force with public support. The party asserted that coalition partners have been given fair representation in governance and power-sharing arrangements.

TVK accused the DMK leadership of claiming exclusive ownership of power and of disrespecting alliance partners in public discourse. It further said that some political leaders believe governance belongs only to them, while contrasting this with TVK’s approach to shared governance.

The statement also criticised DMK’s handling of alliance politics, alleging that partners are used for political gains and later undermined publicly. It directly questioned Stalin’s remarks and accused him of misrepresenting the political situation in the state.

TVK further warned that the DMK could face political setbacks in future elections, claiming internal issues and leadership decisions could impact the party’s standing.
