Chennai, June 10:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay departed for New Delhi on a three-day official visit on Wednesday morning (June 10) to participate in the Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to sources, the Chief Minister left Chennai at around 10 am on a chartered flight. He was accompanied by his personal aide Jegadheesh, along with officials Vishnu Reddy, Rajkumar, Jegadheesh Awasthi, assistant Rajendran, and other members of his personal staff and security team.
This marks Vijay’s second visit to the national capital since assuming office. During his earlier trip on May 27, he held meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman before returning to Chennai the next day.
The NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on Thursday, with chief ministers from across the country expected to attend. Sources indicate that Vijay is likely to address the gathering, outlining Tamil Nadu’s priorities and development perspectives.
In addition to the official meeting, the Chief Minister is also expected to hold discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and leaders from the Congress party during his stay in the capital.
Following the meeting, Vijay is likely to travel to Mangaluru in Karnataka on a personal visit on Friday. He is expected to return to Chennai later that evening, around 6 pm, according to sources.
