US President Donald Trump congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 12 years in office, praising him as a “great” leader and a “wise man” in a message that highlighted the strong personal rapport between the two leaders.
In a post on his social media platform, Trump described Modi as his “friend” and said he was a “strong, healthy, and wise man” with many more years of success ahead.
The milestone marks Modi surpassing the tenure record of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in the country’s history.
Responding to the message, Modi thanked Trump for his wishes and expressed his commitment to further strengthening the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership in the years ahead.
Congratulatory messages also poured in from several global leaders, reflecting widespread international recognition of Modi’s political milestone and continued leadership on the global stage.
