Actor Soori’s upcoming film Mandaadi is all set to hit theatres on September 4, with the makers officially announcing the release date. Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, the film had wrapped up production earlier in April this year.

Billed as a sea-based action drama, Mandaadi revolves around a unique sport along a 100-kilometre stretch of the Tamil Nadu coastline. The title refers to the leader of a fishing expedition team in a traditional sailing boat race, hinting at a rooted and intense narrative.

The film features a strong ensemble cast including Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Achyuth Kumar, Sachana Namidass and Ravindra Vijay in key roles.

Produced by Elred Kumar under the banner of RS Infotainment, the project reunites the team that previously delivered the critically acclaimed Viduthalai films alongside filmmaker Vetri Maaran.

On the technical front, the film boasts music by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by SR Kathir, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav, with action sequences choreographed by Peter Hein, Dilip Subbarayan and Mahesh Mathew.

Soori, who transitioned into a lead actor with Viduthalai, was last seen in Maaman (2025). He also has Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, directed by Ram and co-starring Nivin Pauly and Anjali, awaiting release.
