US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran attempted to carry out a drone attack on Indian ships in the Strait of Hormuz, escalating already high tensions in the region.
According to the report, Trump said the alleged drone attack was ātotally unacceptableā and described it as a ārebuffedā attempt targeting Indian-flagged or Indian-crew vessels passing through the strategic shipping lane.
The statement comes amid a broader wave of maritime incidents in the Gulf and near the Omani coast, where several commercial vesselsāincluding those with Indian crew membersāhave reportedly come under attack in recent days. At least one incident has resulted in the deaths of Indian sailors, prompting strong diplomatic concern from New Delhi.
