Chennai, June 15:
Senior AIADMK leader C. Ve. Shanmugam on Sunday launched a sharp attack on party chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami, alleging a growing trend of family politics within the party.
Reacting to reports about elevating Palaniswami’s son Mithun, Shanmugam said there was nothing wrong in entering politics, but questioned the “drama” around such moves, urging transparency and grassroots work.
He also claimed that AIADMK’s electoral success in northern districts was largely due to the PMK’s support, stating that 31 of the party’s 47 wins came from that alliance. Without PMK, he said, the party would have struggled in several key constituencies.
