Tehran, June 19:
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has claimed that former U.S. President Donald Trump used “all kinds of leverage” to push through a recent agreement between the two countries, highlighting the intense pressure behind the negotiations.
According to reports, the deal—framed as a memorandum of understanding—came after months of conflict and rising tensions in the Middle East. Trump’s approach reportedly involved a mix of military pressure, sanctions, and strategic negotiations aimed at forcing Iran to the table.
Khamenei, while acknowledging the agreement, indicated that Iran did not fully agree with the U.S. position but still authorized the deal after assurances that the country’s interests would be protected.
His remarks suggest internal differences within Iran’s leadership regarding the terms of the agreement.
