Mexico City, June 19:

Canada delivered a stunning performance in Group B of the FIFA World Cup 2026, crushing Qatar 6-0 in a one-sided encounter. The emphatic win marks a historic moment, as Canada secured their first-ever victory in a men’s World Cup.

Forward Jonathan David was the standout performer, netting a brilliant hat-trick, while contributions from Cyle Larin, Nathan Saliba, and an own goal added to Qatar’s misery. Canada dominated from the start, overwhelming their opponents with pace and attacking intensity.

The match turned even more difficult for Qatar after they were reduced to nine men following two red cards, allowing Canada to take complete control. However, the victory was slightly overshadowed by an injury to Canadian midfielder Ismaël Koné, who had to be stretchered off.
