Chennai, June 22:

Over 20 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET re-test held across India under strict security arrangements following the recent question paper leak controversy.

Authorities implemented enhanced measures, including CCTV surveillance, frisking, and heavy deployment of security personnel at exam centres to ensure a fair and transparent process.

The re-examination was conducted after widespread protests and concerns over irregularities in the earlier test. Officials said the process remained largely smooth, with strong monitoring to prevent malpractice.

Meanwhile, investigations into the paper leak case are continuing, as agencies probe those responsible for compromising the integrity of the examination.
