Chennai, July 3:
The Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department has set up a district-level monitoring mechanism to strengthen the implementation of welfare schemes for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) across Tamil Nadu.
According to an official circular, senior officers from the Directorate have been designated as monitoring officers for specific districts to oversee the execution of various welfare programmes. The move aims to ensure effective implementation, timely reviews and improved coordination at the grassroots level.
These officers will act as a link between the Directorate and district administrations, facilitating smoother execution of schemes. They have been instructed to visit their allotted districts once every three months to assess progress, interact with officials and conduct field-level inspections.
Following each visit, the officers must submit detailed reports to the Director, highlighting implementation status, shortcomings and recommendations for improvement.
District-level authorities have also been directed to extend full cooperation by providing necessary data, records and logistical support during inspections.
