London, July 6:

Australia continued their dominance in women’s cricket by defeating England in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 final at Lord’s, securing a record-extending seventh title.

Batting first, England posted a competitive total of 150/4 in 20 overs, thanks to a resilient unbeaten 58 from captain Nat Sciver-Brunt and a valuable 44* from Freya Kemp. However, early wickets and a slow start limited their scoring momentum.

In response, Australia chased down the target comfortably, winning by seven wickets with 17 balls to spare. Beth Mooney starred with a composed 64, while Phoebe Litchfield contributed a crucial 48, stitching together a match-winning partnership that put England out of contention.

Australia’s disciplined bowling effort earlier in the match also played a key role in restricting England, ensuring the target remained within reach.

With this victory, Australia reaffirmed their supremacy in women’s T20 cricket, extending their unparalleled record in the tournament and once again proving why they remain the team to beat on the global stage.
