The Government of Tamil Nadu has urged students and parents to make use of free mental health counselling services offered under the ‘Natpudan Ungalodu’ scheme, especially in the wake of the recently announced NEET UG 2026 results.
In a statement, Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Thares Ahmed said that the initiative aims to support students dealing with stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges following examination outcomes.
The government has made available toll-free mental health helplines 14416 and 104, which can be accessed by students and parents seeking guidance and psychological support. Officials emphasized that these services are confidential and can be used without hesitation.
Under the ‘Natpudan Ungalodu’ programme, counselling is provided by trained mental health professionals and qualified counsellors, ensuring timely assistance and emotional reassurance to those in need.
The State government reiterated its commitment to promoting mental well-being among students and appealed to families to actively utilise the helpline services to build emotional resilience during crucial academic phases.
