Coimbatore, July 23:
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday called upon students to actively contribute to safeguarding the unity and integrity of the nation, stressing that India’s global standing depends on its internal cohesion.
Speaking to reporters at Coimbatore International Airport, he said the country’s ability to respond effectively to global powers is rooted in its unity. “Only if the nation remains united will our voice be heard at the global stage. India’s ability to respond effectively to global powers stems from its unity,” he noted.
When asked about the ongoing protests in Delhi, the Vice President declined to comment, stating that it was a political matter and that an appropriate response should come from political leaders.
Responding to a question on the performance of the newly formed Tamil Nadu government, he said it should be given adequate time to function. “That’s everyone’s wish, and it is my wish as well,” he added.
