The much-anticipated musical family drama Raja’s Playlist has officially wrapped up its shooting and moved into the post-production phase. The film marks the acting debut of Jaiyan, son of late veteran producer R.D. Bhaskar and nephew of legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja.
Produced by Ramanan Balagangatharan under the banner of Elephantine X, the project has drawn significant attention for bringing together some of Tamil cinema’s most celebrated talents. Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu has penned the story, while music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Acclaimed director Sudha Kongara has joined the team as Creative Producer, making the film a heartfelt tribute to the legacy and relationships of R.D. Bhaskar.
The film is directed by debutant Sujith N. Subramaniam, who previously gained recognition as the cinematographer of Kudumbasthan. He has also written the screenplay, adapting Venkat Prabhu’s story for the screen.
Speaking on the occasion, producer Ramanan Balagangatharan described the completion of filming as an emotional milestone. He praised Jaiyan’s dedication to his debut performance and expressed confidence that audiences would warmly receive him. He also highlighted the team’s collective effort in bringing the story to life and looked forward to delivering a heartfelt musical entertainer.
Raja’s Playlist features a strong ensemble cast including Sona Olickal, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Guru Somasundharam, Roju, Bibian, Aarya Lakshmi, Pragadeeshwaran Poobalam, Indhumathy, Reshmi, Rajinth, Ramkumar, Meena, and Thilagavathi in key roles.
With post-production now underway, the film’s music, visuals, and technical elements are being refined. Backed by a talented team and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music, Raja’s Playlist is expected to offer audiences an emotionally engaging cinematic experience upon its release.
