Chennai, July 29: The upcoming Tamil romantic entertainer Lightweight, Baby! starring stand-up comedian Vikkals Vikram and fitness personality Arathy Krishna has successfully completed its principal photography. The film wrapped up after an extensive 45-day shoot conducted across four schedules in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mysore.
Blending romance, humor, and drama, Lightweight, Baby! is set against the backdrop of competitive fitness. The story explores the clash between personal ambition, family expectations, and love, promising a narrative filled with heart and high-energy moments.
The film marks a significant milestone in Vikkals Vikramās career as he steps into his first lead role after gaining popularity as a stand-up comedian and reality show participant. In addition to acting, he has also penned the filmās dialogues, adding a personal creative touch to his character. Opposite him, Arathy Krishna, a recognized name in the fitness and bodybuilding circuit, makes her debut in a major screen role, bringing freshness to the pairing that has already piqued audience interest.
Written and directed by KC Guru, the film is produced by Hitha Studios, with Sagara Sandesh serving as co-producer. The technical team includes cinematographer Pramod Kotiyan, music composer Sarvanaa Subramaniam, and editor Harish Komme.
Speaking about the journey, director KC Guru described the shoot as an enriching experience, noting that each location added a unique flavor to the film. He expressed excitement about entering the post-production phase and introducing the characters to audiences soon.
Vikkals Vikram shared that playing a lead role for the first time has been one of the most exciting phases of his career. He added that contributing as a dialogue writer made the experience even more meaningful, allowing him to shape his character both on screen and through words.
Arathy Krishna highlighted how acting challenged her emotionally beyond her fitness journey, calling the film a memorable debut experience. She expressed enthusiasm about sharing the film with audiences.
With filming now complete, the team has moved into post-production. The makers have announced that the first look of Lightweight, Baby! will be unveiled in the second week of August, ahead of its theatrical release later this year.
