Chennai, Aug 3:

Haworth is expanding its manufacturing footprint in India with a second facility near Sriperumbudur, marking nearly three decades of its presence in the country. The move reinforces its shift from selling in India to building in India for both domestic and global markets.

Having entered India in 1997, Haworth began local manufacturing in 2005 and later consolidated operations near Chennai.

Today, its 21,000 sq. m. facility integrates metal fabrication, plastic moulding, upholstery, and workstation production under one roof, supported by over 180 skilled professionals and in-house testing aligned with global standards.

According to Praveen Rawal, India continues to be a key growth engine, driven by rising demand for modern workplaces and innovation-led environments.

Manish Khandelwal added that the company combines global design with local insights to deliver solutions tailored to India’s evolving workforce.

The upcoming facility is expected to double production capacity, reduce import dependence, and support exports across the Asia-Pacific region.

Haworth’s India-made products already serve major projects, while its operations run on renewable energy and follow zero-waste practices, reflecting its focus on sustainability and long-term investment in India.
