Chennai, Aug 3:

The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday announced that all the cases filed against students for protesting against NEET exams to express solidarity with the CJP’s Janat Mantar stir, would be withdrawn.

The cases would be withdrawn as per the directions of Chief Minister VIjay, School Education Minister A.Rajmohan said in a social media post, while thanking the Chief Minister for the same.

Further details on withdrawal of cases would be announced shortly, he said.

“As per the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, all cases registered against students who protested against the NEET examination will be withdrawn. Further details will be announced shortly. Heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu”, Rajmohan wrote on X.

The TVK government’s move to withdrawal the cases comes in the backrop of criticisms from some parties for booking students for staging protests across the State in support of CJP against NEET UG paper leaks in the National capital, which was subsequently called off after the Union government agreed to their key demands and passage of more stringent Anti-Paper leak bill in Parliament.
