Chennai, Aug 7:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be arriving in Chennai on Saturday on a two day visit to Tamil Nadu and the neighbouring Union Territory of Puducherry.
During his visit, he will be presenting the President’s Police Colour to the Puducherry police on Sunday and later visit the Ramana Maharishi Ashram and offer darshan at the Lord Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu.
The Union Home Minister will reach Chennai from Delhi around 4.30 pm and then board a helicopter to Puducherry, where after an overnight stay, he would present the President’s Police Colour at an event to be held at the Police Training School ground in Gorimedu on Sunday morning.
After the event, he would reach Tiruvannamalai by a helicopter where he would have darshan and offer special prayers at the Temple and also visit the Ramana Maharishi Ashram. After the programme, he would return to Chennai airport by a helicopter and leave for New Delhi.
Police have made tight security arrangements both at Chennai airport, where a five tier security arrangement has been put in place in view of the Independence Day fete, Puducherry and Truvannamalai. A high level security review meeting was also conducted by the central team along with local police at the Puducherry Airport, at the place where he would be staying overnight and the event venue at Gorimedu.
