The makers of ‘Hi’, starring leading actress Nayanthara and actor Kavin, have officially announced that the film will hit theatres worldwide on August 28. The film marks the first on-screen collaboration between the two popular actors, generating considerable excitement among fans.

Directed by debutant Vishnu Edavan, ‘Hi’ features a strong ensemble cast including K. Bhagyaraj, Prabhu, Radhika Sarathkumar, VTV Ganesh, Sathyan, Aadithya Kathir, Qureshi, and others in key roles. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Rajesh Shukla, music composer Jen Martin, editor Philomin Raj, and art director S. Kannan.

Billed as a wholesome family entertainer, the film is jointly produced by Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, and S. S. Lalit Kumar under the banners of Zee Studios, The Rowdy Pictures, and Seven Screen Studio. Vinoth C. J. and K. S. Mayilvaganan are the co-producers, while V. K. Kuppendran serves as the creative producer.

The first single from the film has already garnered millions of views online, receiving a positive response and boosting expectations. With the official announcement poster now released, the team has confirmed the global theatrical release date, further heightening anticipation.

Speaking about the film, director Vishnu Edavan described ‘Hi’ as a “simple, sweet, and heartwarming” story that unfolds across Chennai, Coimbatore, and Pollachi. He noted that the film aims to recreate the charm of classic feel-good entertainers like Darling Darling Darling, Santosh Subramaniam, and Yaaradi Nee Mohini, focusing on engaging storytelling without a traditional antagonist.

Vishnu Edavan, who previously worked as a lyricist in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s hit films such as Kaithi, Master, and Vikram, makes his directorial debut with this project. His transition into filmmaking, combined with the fresh pairing of Nayanthara and Kavin, has added to the buzz surrounding the film.

Trade circles suggest that the film’s blend of emotional storytelling and light-hearted moments could appeal strongly to family audiences. With a mix of romance, humor, and relatable situations, ‘Hi’ is expected to offer a complete theatrical experience.

As the release date approaches, the makers are likely to ramp up promotional activities, building further momentum for one of the most anticipated Tamil releases of the season.
