Filmmaker Meera Kathiravan is set to collaborate with producer Raahul of Romeo Pictures for his next project, following the release of his recent film Habeebi. The announcement was made by Raahul through his official social media handle, where he also revealed that the film is scheduled to go on floors in December this year.
While details regarding the cast and technical crew are yet to be disclosed, the project has already generated interest, especially given the duo’s recent association. Raahul had earlier served as the distributor for Habeebi, marking this as a continuation of their professional collaboration.
Habeebi, which hit theatres on June 12, featured actors Malavika Manoj, Kasturi Raja, Esha, Dhanashree Sudhakaran, Anusreya Rajan, and Arulkumar in key roles. The film received mixed reviews upon release, with critics noting that while it had potential, it was held back by familiar narrative tropes.
Apart from this upcoming venture, Raahul is actively involved in multiple projects. He is currently producing Vikram Prabhu’s 26th film directed by debutant Siddharth, Akash Murali’s second film with director Harsha Varathan, and another untitled project featuring Ravi Mohan.
The new film will mark Meera Kathiravan’s fourth directorial outing, following Aval Peyar Tamilarasi (2009), Vizhithiru (2017), and Habeebi. With his growing body of work and a fresh collaboration in place, expectations are building around what the filmmaker will deliver next.
