Mumbai, Aug 10:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to approach the Indian government before taking a final decision on the national team’s proposed white-ball tour of Bangladesh, leaving the six-match series firmly dependent on official clearance.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has kept a window open for the series in its international calendar and is reportedly willing to adjust the schedule and venues to accommodate India. Dhaka and Chattogram are among the likely venues, with the BCB also understood to be open to reducing the number of venues if required.
However, the final decision rests with the Government of India rather than the cricket boards.
According to Aaj Tak journalist Nitin Shrivastav, the BCCI is likely to approach the government soon for guidance and clearance. Only after receiving its response will the board be able to determine whether the Indian team can travel to Bangladesh.
