Chennai, Aug 13:
The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday carried out a reshuffle of senior police officers, transferring several officials to key positions in the CB-CID, Cyber Crime Wing, Economic Offences Wing and other specialised units.
Director General of Police (DGP) Bala Naga Devi, who was heading the State Cyber Crime Wing (CCW), has been transferred and posted as DGP, CB-CID. She will replace Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Abhin Dinesh Modak, who has been posted as ADGP, Cyber Crime Wing.
ADGP Vidya Jayant Kulkarni, who was on compulsory wait, has been posted as ADGP, Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
In another change, M Ramamurthy, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Intelligence, Greater Chennai Police, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (SP), Q Branch CID. He will replace BK Arvind, who has been transferred and posted as SP, Special Branch CID, replacing A Myilvaganan.
Arpita Rajput, serving as SP, North Zone, CB-CID, has been transferred and posted as DCP, Anna Nagar. She will replace I Eswaran, who has been transferred and posted as SP, Tamil Nadu Commando Force.
Meanwhile, SR Senthil Kumar, DCP, Central Crime Branch, Avadi, has been transferred and posted as SP, Coastal Security Group, Nagapattinam.
V Saravana Kumar, serving as SP, North Zone, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, has been transferred and posted as SP, Anti-Terrorism Squad, Chennai. He will replace D Ramesh Babu, who has been posted as DCP (Headquarters), Tirunelveli City.
The reshuffle covers several specialised police wings, including cybercrime, crime investigation, intelligence, economic offences, coastal security, anti-terrorism and vigilance.
