The trailer of Pyaar Prema Kalyanam, starring debutant actor Elan and Saanve Megghana, was released by Netflix on Wednesday. Directed by Elan, the film appears to explore marriage and relationships through a quirky premise that challenges conventional family expectations.
The film follows Elan’s character after marriage as he moves into his wife’s home as a “live-in son-in-law”. The trailer hints at the social and familial complications that arise from this unconventional arrangement. Radikaa Sarathkumar plays his mother-in-law, while Elango Kumaravel and Geetha Kailasam portray his father-in-law and mother respectively. MS Bhaskar also features in the cast. Written by Nivedita Pohankar, the film has additional screenplay and dialogue contributions from Elan and Harish GY.
Pyaar Prema Kalyanam marks Elan’s acting debut following his work as the director of Pyaar Prema Kaadhal and Star. He also plays a character named Elan and has penned the lyrics for the film. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music, reuniting with Elan after their collaborations on the filmmaker’s earlier films. Dinesh K Babu is the cinematographer and Pradeep E Raghav is the editor. Produced by Sreenidhi Sagar under Rise East Entertainment, the film will premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 21 and is expected to be available in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam dubs.
