Actor Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming film ‘Baththa’ is set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 1. Presented by Star Studio18 and filmmaker Atlee, the film is jointly produced by A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios Production. It marks the third collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and director Balaji Tharaneetharan.
The actor-director duo had earlier worked together on the critically acclaimed films ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’ and ‘Seethakathi’. Their reunion for ‘Baththa’ has generated considerable expectations among Tamil cinema audiences.
Vijay Sethupathi and Atlee had previously collaborated on the pan-India blockbuster ‘Jawan’, in which Sethupathi played a pivotal role. ‘Baththa’ marks their latest association, with Atlee presenting the film.
Actor Lijomol Jose, known for her performance in ‘Jai Bhim’, plays the female lead. Music for the film has been composed by Sai Abhyankkar.
Selvakumar SK is the cinematographer, while R Kalaivanan handles the editing. T Muthuraj is the production designer and Ashwin Murugan is the co-producer.
The film is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare.
With the Vijay Sethupathi-Balaji Tharaneetharan combination returning for a third outing and Atlee backing the project, ‘Baththa’ is among the Tamil releases attracting attention ahead of the festive season.
