Chennai, Aug 21:
Chennai will celebrate Madras Day 2026 with a special midnight Metro ride featuring live music and community participation.
Organised by Super Chennai in association with Chennai Metro Rail, the event will bring together around 100 Chennai residents for a unique musical journey through the city on Friday, August 21.
The midnight celebration, scheduled from 11 pm to midnight, will feature a live performance by Office Gaana, with participants joining in to sing and celebrate Chennai’s culture and spirit.
The event seeks to combine Chennai’s growing Metro network with its strong musical and cultural identity, offering residents an unconventional way to mark Madras Day.
The initiative also highlights the Metro’s emerging role not just as a mode of urban transport but as a space for community and cultural events.
