Mackay, Aug. 24:
Mitchell Starc produced a devastating 10-wicket match haul as Australia crushed Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs in the second Test in Mackay to level the two-match series 1-1.
Starc finished with 10 for 51, his fourth 10-wicket haul in Test cricket, as Bangladesh were dismissed for just 64 in their first innings and 95 in the second. Australia completed victory inside two days after Bangladesh were unable to withstand the left-arm paceman’s relentless attack.
Starc claimed six wickets for 12 runs in Bangladesh’s first innings before adding four more in the second. Nathan Lyon provided support with crucial wickets as Australia wrapped up the match emphatically.
The victory was a powerful response from Australia after Bangladesh won the opening Test. The series now stands level at 1-1, with Starc’s extraordinary performance providing the defining moment of the second match.
