The shooting of Ninja, starring GV Prakash Kumar in the lead and featuring music by Sean Roldan, began with a traditional pooja ceremony in Thanjavur.
Directed by debutant Murugu, the film is billed as a full-fledged romantic comedy and family entertainer. The first schedule, spanning 20 days, is currently underway in Thanjavur.
Interestingly, GV Prakash Kumar, who was initially signed as the film’s composer, has now taken on the lead role. Prarthana, known for her performances in films including Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimayil, Love Today and Parking, plays the female lead.
The film is jointly produced by S. Sai Devanand and K.S. Sinish under the banners of Soldiers Factory and Learn & Teach Production. K.S. Sinish, who produced the National Award-winning Parking, is also backing Super Hero, featuring Arjun Das and Sandy.
Jensen Dhivakar, Radha Ravi, Deepa Ramanujam, Devadarshini and Kalyani Natarajan are part of the supporting cast.
Harish Kannan is the cinematographer, Ganesh Siva handles the editing, Gopi Anand is the art director, Priya Ravi is the costume designer and Dinesh Kasi choreographs the stunt sequences.
The film marks an interesting collaboration between GV Prakash Kumar, Sean Roldan and director Murugu. The makers are expected to announce further details about the project soon.
