Chennai, Aug. 31:
A 69-year-old woman suffered a fracture after a stray cow attacked and knocked her down while she was walking to a tea shop at Thiruvallikeni’s Jambazar area on Sunday morning.
Devi, a resident of Thanappa Street, was walking along the street when the cow suddenly charged at her and knocked her to the ground. She sustained a serious injury to her hand and was admitted to Royapettah Government Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
Jambazar police have registered a case and are conducting an inquiry.
Residents said incidents of cattle attacking pedestrians, particularly children and elderly people, have been reported frequently in several parts of Chennai. They urged the Greater Chennai Corporation to intensify its drive to seize cattl
