Chennai, Sept 1:

Chennai, Sept 1:
Tamil Nadu Industries Minister Keerthana will travel to Taiwan on September 4, while Chief Minister Vijay is scheduled to visit the United Kingdom from September 10 to attract foreign investments to the state.

Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are witnessing intense competition to attract industrial investments, prompting the Tamil Nadu government to step up its efforts to bring more global companies to the state.

A major semiconductor industry conference, Semicon, is being held in Taiwan this week, with companies involved in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and chip manufacturing expected to participate. Keerthana, along with officials from the state’s investment promotion agency, will attend meetings in Taiwan and hold discussions with potential investors.

Chief Minister Vijay will lead a high-level delegation to the UK from September 10 to 16. The delegation is expected to visit the UK and other countries, meet representatives of major industrial companies and invite them to invest in Tamil Nadu.

After the TVK government assumed office in May, Keerthana had earlier visited South Korea and held discussions with investors from the shipbuilding sector.

The UK trip will be Vijay’s first official overseas visit since he assumed office as Chief Minister. The government is expected to use both visits to showcase Tamil Nadu as a destination for investments in emerging and high-technology sectors.
