K.N. Nehru and the DMK will not be afraid of such bogeymen unleashed by the new government.
We will face everything through the path of law and emerge victorious, DMK president M.K. Stalin said on Saturday, reacting to vigilance searches at properties linked to former minister K.N. Nehru and his brother Ravichandran.
Stalin alleged that the searches against Nehru were being carried out for purely political reasons while a case was pending in the Madras High Court and the Assembly session was under way.
He accused the TVK government of using the searches as a diversionary tactic and questioned its failure to register FIRs on complaints relating to alleged horse-trading and the induction of MLAs from other parties.
Calling the developments a âdark pageâ in Indian democracy, Stalin said the DMK would confront the action through legal means and defeat what he described as the new governmentâs attempts to intimidate the party.
The remarks came after the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption conducted searches at properties linked to Nehru and his brother on Saturday morning.
