Chennai, Sept 5:
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will arrive in Chennai on Saturday for a day-long visit, prompting heightened security across key areas of the city.
The Vice President will attend India Valves 2026 at Guindy and launch the India Valve Registry. He will later participate in a function at Valluvar Kottam to mark the 75th year of publication of Tamil daily Dinamalar.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made along his routes from the airport to the venues. Areas around Meenambakkam airport, Guindy, Nungambakkam and the routes to be taken by the VVIP have been declared Red Zones.
Police have prohibited the flying of drones and other unmanned aerial objects in these areas, except for government arrangements. Restrictions under the BNSS are already in force across Greater Chennai Police limits.
