The shooting of Alagiya Laila, starring Prabhu in a prominent role, has begun. The film is being produced jointly by A R M Studios and Yoga Studio, with A R Mathiyazhagan and Aarthi backing the project. Jaya TV managing director Dr Vikram sounded the clapboard to mark the beginning of the shoot.
Apsara Rani plays the female lead, while Yogi Babu, Thambi Ramaiah, VTV Ganesh, Kingsley, Sarath and Poovaiyar are part of the cast. C Sathya is composing the music, with Vinoth Perumal handling the cinematography.
The film is touted as a full-fledged comedy entertainer and marks the Tamil directorial debut of filmmaker Rejith. Interestingly, the director and producers, along with several members of the team, hail from Kerala, adding a fresh flavour to the project.
Speaking about the film, Prabhu appealed to Tamil audiences to extend the same support to the Alagiya Laila team that they have given his father and son Vikram Prabhu. He also urged audiences to welcome and celebrate the filmmakers, producers and actors who have come to Tamil Nadu to make the film.
