Chennai, Sept 15:
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA from Kolathur V S Babu, who has been undergoing treatment at MGM Healthcare in Chennai after developing breathing difficulties, is in a stable condition, according to the hospital.
Babu was admitted to the hospital on September 9 following sudden respiratory distress and was placed in the Critical Care Unit under the observation of a multidisciplinary team of doctors. He has been receiving appropriate medical treatment and respiratory support as required.
The hospital said his condition has remained stable and that he is showing continued improvement with the treatment. He continues to remain under close medical monitoring.
Babu, who had earlier been associated with the DMK, contested the 2026 Assembly election on the TVK ticket from Kolathur and defeated former Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin by 8,795 votes. His victory had attracted considerable political attention.
