Chennai, Sept 15:
Power supply will be suspended in several parts of Chennai on Wednesday, September 16, to facilitate maintenance works.
According to the scheduled shutdown, supply will be suspended from 9 am to 2 pm in parts of St Thomas Mount, Tambaram, Korattur and Royapuram.
In St Thomas Mount, the affected areas include Ramar Koil Street, Mount Poonamallee Road, Meenambakkam, M K N Road, Kumaran Nagar, Defence Colony, Indira Nagar, Officer Training Academy and several surrounding residential areas.
In Tambaram, the shutdown will cover parts of Perungalathur, including Kamarajar High Road, Ganesh Nagar, Lingam Nagar, Sharmila Nagar, Bharathy Avenue, Balaji Nagar and neighbouring localities.
Parts of Korattur, including R S Road, MTH Road, Thillai Nagar, Menambedu Road, Thirumullai Voil Road, Central Avenue and surrounding streets, will also be affected.
In Royapuram, the areas include VOC Nagar, R K Nagar, Thilagar Nagar, Tollgate, Stanley, Old Washermenpet, Kalmandapam, G A Road and several surrounding streets.
Power supply is expected to be restored before 2 pm if maintenance works are completed ahead of schedule.
