NEW DELHI:
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has urged the Bihar government and administration to carry out relief and rescue operations with full promptness as several parts of the State continue to face the impact of floods.
Expressing concern over the situation, Gandhi called for speedy relief, rescue and medical assistance for people affected by the floods. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also expressed concern over the situation and called for urgent assistance to affected families.
Gandhi urged the authorities to ensure that people stranded in flood-affected areas receive immediate assistance and that relief material reaches those in need without delay.
He also called for adequate arrangements for food, drinking water, medicines and other essential supplies for affected residents.
The Congress has urged the administration to prioritise evacuation of people from vulnerable areas and ensure that rescue and relief agencies remain fully prepared to respond to the situation.
The appeal came amid reports of extensive flooding in Bihar, with several areas affected by rising water levels and disruption to normal life.
