Chennai, Sept 18:
Tamil Nadu Governor Arlekar has given his assent to 12 of the 13 Bills passed during the first Assembly session held after the TVK government assumed office.
Of the 12 Bills, the Governor gave his assent to six Bills within four days and another five Bills within five days. The remaining Bill received assent thereafter.
The Bill relating to private universities has been sent to the President for approval.
The 13 Bills were passed during the first session of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly under the TVK government. With the Governor’s assent, 12 Bills have now cleared the legislative process and can be implemented in accordance with their provisions.
